SANGAM 2027

SANGAM 2027 marks a significant step towards strengthening academic collaboration, interdisciplinary research, and scholarly engagement among the National Institutes of Technology (NITs). Evolving from the legacy of MDRC, SANGAM will serve as a recurring PAN-NIT academic platform from 2027 onwards, bringing together faculty, researchers, and doctoral scholars to exchange ideas and advance research in management and social sciences.

SANGAM symbolizes the coming together of institutions, disciplines, ideas, and perspectives. The conference aims to foster inter-institutional research collaboration, joint publications, doctoral mentorship, and knowledge exchange while promoting academic excellence and a shared scholarly identity among participating NITs.

SANGAM brings together nine institutions: NIT Agartala, NIT Bhopal, NIT Durgapur, NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Meghalaya, NIT Patna, NIT Rourkela, NIT Silchar and NIT Warangal.

The inaugural edition, SANGAM 2027, will be hosted by the National Institute of Technology Durgapur in February 2027, laying the foundation for a sustainable PAN-NIT academic network committed to research excellence, institutional cooperation, and intellectual exchange.

The Department of Management Studies (DMS), National Institute of Technology Durgapur, is committed to advancing excellence in management education, research and scholarly engagement. Situated within the multidisciplinary and technology-oriented academic environment of NIT Durgapur, the Department provides a distinctive platform for the study and practice of contemporary management. The Department, established in 2004, offers MBA, Ph.D., and M.Tech in OR programs, with specializations in Marketing, Finance, HRM, Systems & Operations.

The Department emphasizes the integration of management knowledge with technology, analytics, innovation and interdisciplinary perspectives, reflecting the changing requirements of organizations and society. Through its academic programmes, research activities and scholarly initiatives, DMS seeks to develop a strong understanding of contemporary business and management challenges.
