Work Experiences
  • Since 2010 Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, N.I.T.

Durgapur, India.

  • Visiting Faculty in Department of Biotechnology,West Bengal University of Technology, (WBUT) Saltlake, Kolkata, 2008-2009.
Research Interest

Molecular Immunology, Nano-biotechnology and Biosensor development.

  1. Development and optimization of biosensors in disease diagnosis.
Assessment of the biomarkers like HER2 and vitamin D in the detection of diseases
like breast cancer and obesity, cardiovascular, diabetic diseases respectively.
  2. Drug discovery and Nanotherapeutics
Anti-parasitic effects of HMG CoA reductase inhibitor, statin and it’s immune-modulatory capacity. Silver nanoparticles are currently being investigated for their cytotoxic effect on different cancer cell lines. The mechanistic actions arealso matter of investigation.
  3. Parasite –Genomics
Cloning and Functional analysis of different species-specific genes, expressed in Leishmania donovani.
  4. Host – Pathogen interactions and cell signaling
Emphasis is given to the rapidly developing field of immunology in respect to the host's innate immune system interactions elicited by parasites.

  • Collaborative Research with the following institutes :

  1. IIT Kharagpur
  2. CMTI Bengaluru
