Facilities Given by the Department

Environmental Laboratory

The Environmental Laboratory is equipped with modern analytical instruments for analysing air, water, soil, and waste samples. It supports undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, doctoral research, consultancy, and environmental monitoring. The laboratory provides hands-on training in environmental sample analysis, pollution assessment, and control techniques, strengthening students’ practical skills and research capabilities.

Environmental Laboratory

Geology Laboratory

The Geology Laboratory provides comprehensive hands-on training in mineralogy, petrology, structural geology, and optical microscopy, bridging theoretical concepts with practical geological applications. Equipped with advanced polarizing microscopes, an extensive collection of rocks and minerals, geological specimens, and teaching models, the laboratory facilitates the systematic identification, classification, and interpretation of minerals and rocks. It enables students to develop essential skills in mineralogical and petrographic analysis, understand rock-forming processes, and examine geological structures and textures. The laboratory supports undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, practical demonstrations, and research activities, fostering observational skills and a deeper understanding of Earth materials and geological processes.

Geology Laboratory

Computer Laboratory

The Computer Laboratory provides a technology-rich environment for teaching, research, and hands-on project work in geospatial technologies and environmental data analysis. Equipped with specialized software for Remote Sensing (RS), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), statistical analysis, environmental applications, and groundwater modelling, it enables students and researchers to process and interpret spatial data, model environmental processes, and investigate real-world challenges. The laboratory supports advanced research while helping students develop practical digital skills for environmental assessment and decision-making.
